PFM Obsession: Tights!!!!

though i have been reluctant to accept that fall is here, the one thing that makes me excited is that this is the perfect time of year to pull out tights in all shades and textures!!  tights are such a great way to bring color, sass and a little coverage to your outfit.  ... and if you have been reluctant to try it up to now, shorts and tights are still a great way to show some leg in a classy way (and lots of places have shorts on sale!).  if you missed it the first time, definitely check out this great "Ask The PFMs" post by Becca; it sums up the perfect way to combine shorts and tights to carry you through the fall.

now that the weather has been cooling off, i find myself not ready to give up wearing some of my summer outfits.  bright colored tights like this colbalt pair from Hue are an edgy way to add the perfect pop of color!  i have found myself wanting to wear tights but, unlike my legging collection, the tights i had were lacking oomph; i had the usual black and some lace but i wanted color.  so off to the mall i went.  i started off at Bloomies, but their colors were way too fall like already.  then i headed over to Macy's and i hit the jackpot!!  i had to stop myself from buying a pair in every color!! now i can't stop putting together different ways to wear them!  soo excited and obsession fulfilled! (for now, lol) xo Sesheta

P.S. - too hard to decide on just one or two pairs?  well, purchase a three-pack (like this one from Zappos) so you get a range of colors at a deal plus free shipping!

Daily Outfit: Laced in Violets

who says lace is just for streetwalkers??!!  i love the fact that lace was recently reclaimed by the fashion world and made to be classic and edgy! that was my goal for this outfit.  though many have put their lace tights away, i am still loving mine.  they were the perfect addition to add edge and coverage to make these cute floral-print vintage shorts office ready.  is this your average office attire? well...no. ...but you should know by now that my style choices are anything but average lol.  ... and i would totally do it again!

Daily Outfit: Tribal Dancer

i looooooooooove legwarmers!! especially when they are MF legwarmers! :) these bad boys take an outfit from regular to a wow factor. ...and they are really warm!! go figure, lol... i felt very "flashdance" in my outfit.  in fact, that's exactly what my friend said to me. she said i was giving her a flashdance vibe but that my moccasins were throwing her off, making it "native american flashdance".  hence, tribal dancer!  i think tribal dancer is the perfect definition of this outfit.  i don't mind the dancer vibe.  i actually danced with a troupe when i was younger.  unfortunately, dancing at parties every now and then is all that's left of my dancing career.  either way, it is fun to reminisce ...and legwarmers, leggings and a mini dress can help make the memory come alive!

Daily Outfit: Wild Circumstance

on any other day, i would have been totally stoked to have created such a fab outfit.  (i absolutely loooooooove wearing my head wrapped turban style with this leopard print scarf.) unfortunately, today is not an ordinary day and neither was the day that i took these pics.

i found out earlier that morning that my uncle had passed.  though i'm smiling in these pics, my heart is deeply saddened by my loss.  while it is never fun to lose anyone, it seems especially hard when it is unexpected.  my uncle was a beautiful spirit; he always greeted me with a smile and had jokes to share.  the thing is, this is how he is remembered by anyone who knew him.  he is going to be thoroughly missed by many.  i'll be attending his funeral today and, while it will be hard to say our final goodbyes, i'm looking forward to paying tribute to how he lived.

RIP Uncle Basil

Daily Outfit: Heavy Metal

i just love chunky jewelry!!

there used to be a time that i would never mix metals.   i am still very conscious of when i do it.  if i have gold studs on my belt, that dictates that my jewelry should all be gold and if the buckles on my shoes are silver, then my other accessories should also be in the silver family.   Crazy? ok, maybe just a little lol but we can't help some of our little idiosyncrasies (notice that the word crazy is kind of in the word idiosyncrasies lol).  as i was saying, there was i time that i would never mix metals BUT, i have given that up loooong ago.  the way i accessorized this outfit is proof!  just look at all the different metals that i have on!  though i am not totally hindered by what metal i have on, i am definitely mindful of making the mix subtle.  it works because it's all spread out so you can't really tell.  everything just flows without competing.  my necklace is definitely the focal point of the outfit (and so is my hot pink tank) with the other metals accessories as accents.  i especially have an affinity for chunky pieces; chunky jewelry makes me feel so rock goddess... not really sure why but, then again, who cares why!!   the goal is to put together a memorable outfit with ease and i think that mission is complete!

Daily Outfit: Fringe Benefits

i had fun making my fringe shimmy lol

the look sans denim jacket

this vintage Lord and Taylor beaded belt was the perfect accent to add some bling!

can you tell that i adore my moccasin boots?  my goal during this shoot was to demonstrate the movement of the fringe.  this explains my twists and jumps! lol, it was hard to choose what pics to share!  i am such a tribal girl at heart; you can see it in my styling as well as in my designs.  these boots are a perfect way to add some native chic to an otherwise plain jane outfit.  (well, that is if u can call lemon yellow and chartreuse plain jane! lol). the shading of colors on my Crochet Cabbage Bloom flower just floats my boat!  i loved the excuse to  dress down this vintage beaded belt– a super find at a thrift store in Houston.  like Becca, i added denim - a retro take on the moto jacket- to my look to keep it a nice blend of styles. (i don’t like being categorized  - i can be classic, boho, edgy and comfortable - all in one look!) i chose to keep it simple when it came to the earrings – just a drop of pineapple!  i think i just found my tried and true outfit!
