Daily Outfit: Sparkly Self

Stepping on the heels of my last post...I just had to dress myself in sequins to match the upbeat sparkly mood I've been in lately. Sparkles in the daytime? Yes...do it...it's fun! I love to mix up a girly piece like this drapey sequin top with a pair of boyfriend jeans for contrast. The oxford flats are perfect for running around and as a bonus they bring a pop of bright color into the outfit. Add a blazer for the office and then transition this look easily into evening with a pair of pumps or some seriously high heeled sandals. Happy Monday everyone! xoxo Becca

Daily Outfit: Girly Boyjeans

Is this title considered an oxymoron? It's definitely contradictory, but let me tell you- opposites attract when it comes to fashion. So I paired my slouchy torn boyfriend jeans with gold metallic mary janes and a drapey sweatshirt...that just happened to have a huge bow (of course!) How comfortable, fun, and very much me.

Daily Outfit: Coral Pop

there is nothing like neon coral to brighten an outfit and an overcast day!
have i mentioned how much i love neon?  if you have been reading our blog, this shouldn't surprise you at all.  it really does brighten my day, literally and figuratively, to wear neon.  the best part is that fashion trends have finally caught up with my obsession!! i can find sooo many different items to satisfy my neon desires!  what's different than when we were wearing neon in the '80's, is, instead of putting all your neon on in one outfit, to pair it with neutrals like taupe or grey or white even (ooo, how fun), to intensify or subdue the shocking hue.  i am definitely not trying to subdue anything!  that's the other thing you should know about me by now - how i love pops of color!  my cute shirt (thanks to Forever 21) is the perfect pop to my neutral palette.  oh happy day! :)

PFM Obsession: Leopard Print Jeans...For Less?

the Look
I just stumbled on something that has my finger hovering in the air over my mouse...do I click or do I not click? I have an excessive love for printed denim, in particular for the Current Elliott Leopard Jeans. I wrote about them here. I've been coveting them for some time now, searching eBay for a pair in my size and in my price range. They retail for $200, and I just don't have that money sitting around right now. The neutral grey version would be perfect for transitioning into spring...think about all the solid pastel or neon color sweaters and shirts that you can just throw on and be looking so chic!

And now...the dilemma. These Vanilla Star leopard print jeans are being sold by Target, under $30, they also come in grey and are available online (not in-stores, unfortunately.) I am tempted to go for them and abandon my search for the higher-priced version. What do you think, has anyone tried the Vanilla Stars on? Are you embracing the animal-print denim trend for Spring?

Daily Outfit: Sargent Sesheta

i had such a blast with this photoshoot.  it was one of the first cool days ushering in the fall season.  it actually was the first day i put on closed shoes.  although i am reluctant to put away all my summer sandals, i definitely welcomed a day to wear my docs.  Dr. Martens bring me back to high school days (i won't focus on how long ago those days are :P) when i got my first pair.  in those days, i favored the low steel toe shoes, which my aunt called my herman munster shoes lol.  oh yeah, i was a village girl.  my school was on E16th and 3rd Ave., so Greenwich Village was a short walk away.  my friends and i made it a regular detour on our way home. this outfit is my grown girl ode to those days.  my choice was all about comfort cause it was threatening to rain and i wanted to be prepared.  i just love my taupe/gray denim leggings from Current Elliott; you feel like you don't even have anything on (but you do! lol).  i paired it with my red graphic tee (Heru!) and a mock pea coat to keep me warm.  to soften the military edge of my wardrobe choices, i added my pearls and black tulle bow headband to girlify it all.  attention! :)
