Daily Outfit: Remix

I'm remixing the original! This shirt-dress has made an appearance every autumn since I bought it. That's a good thing- I love a piece with sustainability and versatility. When you buy something in a recognizable print from a mass-market fashion retailer (Target was the source for this dress) you run the chance of being in the same place with the same thing on as someone else. That said, the key is to make it your own.

The printed shirt-dress is your chameleon for cooler seasons. Take a cue from the many colors in the dress and layer underneath with a turtleneck or slip-dress; layer over with a jacket, blazer, or vest. Pull on a sweater and the dress becomes a skirt. Wear it open over another dress as a jacket. Rotating your choice of tights, jewelry, scarves and hairstyle will have you owning your look and saving some dough! Have a peek below for some current shirt-dress options...and let me know what look you are inspired to create! xoxo Becca

Daily Outfit: A Jewel Tone Combo

Why do I find myself wanting to show more leg as the temperature drops down? Maybe because subconsciously I'm aware of that brief window we have in NY before it gets real cold and then tights will be totally out of the question (unless they are being worn under jeans for extra warmth!) So I'll just be rocking my cord shorts to death until that time comes.

One of my favorite winter fashion trends...making a statement in rich jewel tone hues. I love mixing different textures and saturated colors. If anything, dreary days will make the deep berry reds, bright mustard yellows, and bold emerald greens even more necessary. My shorts inspired me to work in other jewel tone pieces. Citrine tights...my collection just keeps growing!

Sophisticated jewel tones also made their way into nail trends...check out this DIY that combines three rich colors of polish and one metallic polish to create a unique look for any holiday party.

PS Can't stop wearing these ankle boots. I just love 'em. And like Sesheta said, outdoor photo shoots rule.

Daily Outfit: Golden Plum Navy Mix

Remember when I mentioned my trip to Target during Tucker-mania? I had also grabbed this diamond print dress and now it's time to layer it up. Shades of blue and purple look so pretty combined with golden yellow...and I had fun creating a look that's a little bit boho, a little bit neo-tribal. I always jump at the chance to work in my plum booties, which have a teeny burst of golden yellow in the lining. Who doesn't love details like that! This is one of my favorite graphic dresses because there are so many options to switch up the look. I know many of you ladies have this dress, so let us know (or show us) how you like to wear it!

Daily Outfit: Tried & True

So I recently missed out on the Missoni for Target collection and while I wasn't really planning on making any purchases, I have to admit to being disappointed. Do you ever do that? Tell yourself that you don't really want something but then after it's not available anymore you realize you must have it? Desperately? (Well maybe just the ZigZag throw blanket- $188 on ebay...my husband doesn't think so.)
So I was more than happy to revisit my favorite purchase from the Tucker for Target line. Oh, how I loved that collection. I definitely didn't go back to Target like four times in one week just to see if there were any returns in my size. And I so did not stalk two store locations in the same day. Nope. What can I say- I like to be thorough! Anyway, there are those instances when you just want to reach for something comfortable and easy. Nothing beats a a loose patterned top paired with skinny stretch jeans. My metallic chartreuse ballet flats complete my "I-feel-chic-and-don't-have-to-suck-it-in-because-it's-drapey" look. It's a winner!
