A Day in the Life: An End of Summer Hurrah

though i have had quite a few good times this summer, i have still felt like the season has flown by and that i haven't made the most of it.  i had hoped for more relaxation, more beach days, less work and more time with friends.  ...but, alas, we are at the end of August and (those of us with kiddies) school starts next week.  as the summer comes to an end, it is hard not to lament over how it could have been spent.  thankfully, there is still the possibility of a few more warm weekends.  i am definitely looking forward to this weekend.  i have taken a few days off from work to actually do what makes me happy (i hardly ever do that!!).  i have one more chance to fit in all of the things that will signify (to me) time well spent.

i hope that you have an end of summer hurrah planned as well - bbqs, beach days and any thing you find fun and relaxing.  as for next week, it's back to the usual grind.  ...but that is a whole 5 days away! :) xo Sesheta

PFMs on the Town: Brooklyn Brewery

last Friday, i had the pleasure of hanging at Brooklyn Brewery for the first time.  a bunch of my friends, mostly my ol' Wesleyan cronies, as well as family gathered in honor of my hubby's birthday.  we had sooo much fun.   we had a chance to try lots of new Brooklyn beers while in the company of good friends.

it was hard not to be swept up by the hipster vibe that was all over the area.  located in Williamsburg, (right around the corner from both Beacon's closet and Brooklyn Bowl), the place was teeming with brooklynites (both native and newly relocated) and tourists all enjoying good company, music and, of course, brew.  we have already decided that we have to make it a regular excursion - especially while the weather is warm.  i for one am really looking forward to going back.  ...but the night didn't end here for us; once we closed down the brewery, we headed to Brooklyn Bowl for food and bowling.  beer and bowling - love it!! lol

i hope that you have been using the summer as an excuse to get out and enjoy life. being the mom of three and also having been married forever, it's so easy to get stuck in the regular routine.  i love every opportunity to remember that i am still young and fabulous and looking to have fun - even if my favorite place to hang is on my couch lol.  tonight, the hubby and i are meeting one of our fave couples to dance the night away while the legendary Q-tip spins on the ones and twos at Irving Plaza.  how are you starting off your weekend?  however you spend it, hope you have a blast! xo sesheta

Daily Outfit: Love & Lace

Who likes to celebrate love? Well don't all shout at once. I do, I do! I wore this lacy little number to the 40th wedding anniversary party of a very special couple. I feel blessed to be surrounded by family who want to share their happiness with those they love...I also aspire to enjoy at least 40 years of amazing memories and wedded bliss! Haha...3 years under my belt and savoring every minute of it. Speaking of belts (such a smooth segue) I knew this dress needed a little something at the waist. It couldn't have worked out better, not only was this skinny bow belt already in my closet, but I love the combo of purple and teal. Bows, lace, and nude patent leather make for a fun Saturday night in the springtime.

Daily Outfit: Holiday Casual

 This past weekend I was excited to spend time with family and friends at our annual tree-trimming party. There are so many festive events going on this season, but this one in particular is a favorite of mine. It's thrown by my best friend's parents and started out as an intimate gathering that's grown bigger as each year goes by. This time around we joined about 25 people, 2 cats, and a dog. By now it's become less about decorating the tree and more about eating good food, drinking good wine, and spending time with loved ones. And it was a great reason to bake espresso cupcakes...yum!

I decided to plan my outfit around my cargo pants. I love this slouchy sweater vest, and wanted to keep the rest of the outfit casual but chic by opting for ankle booties and my fringey MavenFresh mobius. It's an easy layered weekend look that's comfortable and fun. What's your comfy go-to for the weekends?

Daily Outfit: Halloween Scenes

{A view from the porch at sunset}

{eyeballs n candy corn}

{Halloween cuppies!}

{Skull Snowglobe, anyone?}

{I love this amazing lamp!}

{Creepy cobwebs and a dark figure lurking in the doorway...}

{Gotta have a black cat on Halloween, right Mr. Kitty?}

{A blurry colorful haze complete with our sparkly green masks}
Happy Halloween!

 You might think that I would be a big fan of the holiday that's so focused on dressing up and playing around with different options...but I already do that everyday. Halloween has never really been my thing, yet I would never turn down an invite to a fun party. Our friends hosted their first annual "Eye Ball" yesterday, and we had to be on the scene. We enjoyed the food, music, decorations, and good company! Sundays are usually my days for lounging around and working from home, so I jumped at the chance to change it up and be social... I was feeling the Halloween spirit with my orange plaid cardigan. That's really all it takes for me!
