Daily Outfit: Mee-Yowww

Fair warning- these photos were taken in an attempt to find ourselves a proper indoor shoot option during cold days. Apparently this is not the best location, but bear with us!

My hubby got me these fantastic leopard wedge booties for my birthday and I couldn't wait to debut them. Not gonna lie, I had picked them out previously...but it was definitely exciting to unwrap these beauties and put 'em on! I felt they deserved full attention, thus shorts and tights were the way to go. Kept the rest of the look simple and classy with shades of black and grey to contrast against the pop of pattern in the boots. A chunky vintage necklace was the final touch.

A co-worker came into my office, saw me sitting behind my desk and told me that I looked very business-like. I told her thanks, but she couldn't see that the party was on the bottom. I guess she really didn't know what that meant until I got up to leave my desk. Then she was smiling saying "you weren't kidding!" Ahhhh...I love bringing a little glam to the workday.

Daily Outfit: Feminine Fashion + Festivities Part Un

My very best friend is having a baby! Yep, a little bundle of boy will soon be joining our close circle and let me tell you he will have a lot of aunties that love him! Sesheta and I both had the pleasure of being guests at her baby shower; of course when there's lots of females in attendance, fashion is always on the menu. It's no surprise that our outfits completely complemented each other, right down to the color story. Not at all pre-planned, but us PFMs are always on that same style wavelength! You will just have to wait till tomorrow to see Sesheta's fab outfit...to be continued.

We enjoyed a beautiful sunny fall day, and temperatures were on the warm side- perfect for lightweight tights with lots of leg. I wanted to wear something feminine and fun, so I opted for soft colors and ruffly tiers. The olive tights were the final addition to the color combo of peach, plum, and taupe. I love to mix and match... and my favorite fall coat complimented the look oh so well. Have to tell you that I've been on the hunt for an affordable lace-up wedge bootie in a neutral color. Ladies, that search is over thanks to Zara. These lil bootie beauties are getting compliments left and right; in fact my co-worker just placed an online order for her new pair yesterday. Did we mention that Sesheta and I are here for your personal shopping pleasure?

Don't know about you but I look at every event as a fun fashion opportunity to dig in my closet and come up with a never-worn-before combination. I am sure that many of you readers have found yourselves at that point in life when the invites for showers, engagement parties, and wedding rehearsals are pouring in. Do you stress over what to wear to these celebrations? Instead of running out and thinking you have to spend money on something new, take a long look in your closet. I can pretty much guarantee that you already own something that is perfect for the occasion, but just needs a little tweaking to make it look fresh. Remember that expensive dress you bought for the last event? Well, wear it- but change up the accessories or shoes and layer a different cardigan or blazer on top. You can make something look brand new again and I promise no one will be the wiser. And then you will save your money for that new handbag you were lusting after!

Stumped by style? Let us know, we are more than happy to chat.

Daily Outfit: Native Plume

I love that you can glam up an entire outfit with a turban. Is it a hat? Is it a scarf? The concept had my co-worker completely intrigued...and then impressed. It's a little bit of both in today's look, accenting a plain white tee and a dark navy skirt. I love mixing different materials and I was excited to pair my vintage wool skirt with this leather bomber jacket.  I had to bring in the tribal trend with my suede fringe studded booties (worn so many times before, but this is their debut on the blog.) They always seem to get compliments, people are digging their playful vibe. And they feel like slippers, so I enjoy that.

Who wouldn't want to add vintage pearl clusters into the mix? Studs, pearls, fringe and leather- oh my! It's the details that make this outfit come together into a luxe-hippie-chic dream come true. I had so much fun with this look...it definitely makes me feel like a Premiere Fashion Maven!

PS- did you notice that this title is keeping with Sesheta's "Native Plum" heeheehee we are so harmonious!

Daily Outfit: She's Long Gone

I am wearing my dress as a top. Mostly because this tunic-dress hits upper thigh and I did have to go to work and short hemlines are kinda frowned upon. And partly because I felt very glam with it tucked into my denim pencil skirt. And a little bit because when someone says "I love your shirt, where did you get that?" I get to innocently tell them "oh this- it's actually a dress!" Wink, wink! And then that person gets so motivated by my ingenuity that they are prompted to go home and create a similar look for themselves. Thus, I was an inspiration to somebody by wearing this outfit, which just makes me feel so darn good.

Disclaimer: that actually happened (just the conversation; I have no way of knowing what she did when she got home). And the title of this post is not a reference to the outfit...it was just in my head while I was writing. Happy Monday, everyone!

Daily Outfit: Australian Princess

Wait, wait let me explain. Yesterday my co-worker took a look at my outfit and told me "you look just like an Australian princess." what. does. that. mean? I had no choice but to smile wide, thank her, hold in my laughter and then get to my desk to google what exactly this term could be. After coming across the 2005 Australian reality TV show by that same name, I decided that this could not be what she meant. Hmmm I'm just gonna go with it.

I was feeling a North ForkChic vacation vibe when I put together this outfit. I would definitely wear this for a day of wine-tasting & thrift store shopping. The jumpsuit was a fab find in H&M; Sesheta pulled it from the racks for me to try on & it was love. She knows me so well! I am really into the ease and flowiness of it. I decided to mix it with some nautical stripes and bad hair (cue the fedora & side braid). The hat works so well that I would have worn it even if it was a good hair day!

By the way, someone else really loves this jumpsuit too. While I was trying to pack a lunch & get out the door I suddenly felt someone furry with claws clinging to my calf. Yes, my cat had swiftly climbed inside my pant leg. What can I say, he likes flowy fabric too.

Hooray for the weekend!
